Separated education is a controversial
issue because of the different points of view as well as the diverse types of
school.
On the one hand, by dividing boys and
girls at school, pupils may be more likely to succeed as they would be more
able to focus on their studies. As everybody knows, puberty and adolescence are
complex life stages so the less distractions you have, the more opportunities
you will have to achieve your goals.
However, separated schools can be harmful
to social integration between girls and boys. Besides, academic success has
nothing to do with the sex of a person.
Coeducation is beneficial since students
are going to meet lots of people in their lives and they must learn to live
with people of the other gender, other cultures or religions.
In my opinion, it is not a question of
putting an educational system first, but a free education that allows people
to choose whatever they want without prejudices.
